Urgent Care for Pets
Whether it is urgent or just feels urgent... we'll get you in.
What is veterinary urgent care?
Veterinary urgent care fills the gap between primary care and emergency care, addressing urgent ailments that aren’t life-threatening. Urgent care services are offered during daytime and extended evening hours, allowing pets to be seen the same day without waiting until the next day—or next week—for an appointment with their primary care veterinarian. Urgent care services help prevent overload in primary care and emergency hospitals, so each pet and client get the time and attention they deserve.
Pets can be unpredictable, and you can’t plan for unexpected illness or injury. We understand that having a sick pet can be stressful, and you want them to feel better as soon as possible without a long wait at the emergency hospital. That’s where our urgent care services come in.
What conditions warrant veterinary urgent care?
Sometimes pets develop conditions that require prompt treatment, but aren’t considered life-threatening emergencies. These conditions may cause pain or discomfort, worsen over time, or progress to an emergency if left untreated. Emergency facilities see patients according to condition severity, so medically stable pets with relatively minor conditions often must wait hours to be seen. Our veterinary urgent care addresses outpatient, non-emergent issues, including:
Cuts, wounds, and broken toenails
Urinary tract infections
Vomiting and diarrhea
Upper respiratory infections
Emergencies We See
Our veterinarians are trained and capable in veterinary emergency situations, and can provide a high level of care for almost any emergency for dogs or cats. Occasionally, an emergency patient will need to be transferred to a hospital with an ICU once stabilized, or if they need overnight hospitalization. In these cases, we will organize the transfer and ensure your pet receives the best care possible.
